Sanding and Prep
This job consists mainly of sanding work-pieces using a pneumatic palm sander. Job duties also include: filling knot holes with hot-melt putty, feeding pieces into sanding/wire-brushing machines, stacking orders in finishing racks, as well as general shop upkeep such as sweeping, trash disposal, etc.
Staining and Finishing
As the job title suggests, you will be tasked with staining and finishing work-pieces. Prior experience of at least 3 years is required. Knowledge of staining with both oil and water dyes is key, as well as in-depth knowledge of the finishing process involving water-based sealers and finishes. Color formulas are provided; yet occasionally, new colors will require skill in color-matching techniques.
